Why fibers in concrete :
• It is widely accepted within the concrete industry that traditional concrete mixes are prone to plastic shrinkage during the setting phase and this can often lead to cracking.
• The addition of relatively small amounts of concrete reinforcement fibers can effectively reduce this problem by controlling this early-age plastic shrinkage cracking.
• Concrete reinforcement fiber also avoids the need for using light steel mesh for crack control with its attendant disadvantages of handling and positioning

Nupol Fibre for Refractory Reinforcement :
• Precision cut Nupol fibre monofilament fibres are used to improve the "Green Strength" of refractory products. In addition to this reinforcement process, the fibre perform another important function. (On heating the refractory to start to dry it and later to start to "Fire" the refractory cement, the fibres initially shrink and as the temperature is increased, melt to form voids. The reduction in volume as the fibre shrinks and melts.) It allows trapped gases, especially water vapour to escape and prevent cracking of the refractory/refractory cement.
